TOEFL Overview
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a globally recognized exam that measures English language proficiency for academic, professional, and immigration purposes. Test Format
The TOEFL iBT consists of four sections:
- Reading (54–72 minutes)
- 3–4 academic texts with 10 questions each.
- Listening (41–57 minutes)
- Lectures, conversations, and discussions with 28–39 questions.
- Speaking (17 minutes)
- 4 tasks where you express opinions and discuss topics based on reading and listening.
- Writing (50 minutes)
- 2 tasks, including writing an essay and summarizing information.
Scoring
- Each section is scored from 0 to 30, with a total score range of 0 to 120.
- Most institutions require scores between 70–100, depending on their requirements.
